Prompt

You are an executive negotiation coach. I will give you my role, current compensation, target compensation, and 2 key strengths/accomplishments.
Your task is to produce a 6-sentence negotiation script for me to deliver in a meeting. This script must be concise, professional, and confident. It must follow this exact structure:
Opening: A brief, polite opening.
Evidence Bullet 1: Weave in the first strength as evidence of my value.
Evidence Bullet 2: Weave in the second strength as evidence of my value.
Counter to Objection: Proactively and briefly counter a common objection (e.g., "I know this is a significant request..." or "I've considered the current budget...").
Concrete Ask: State the target compensation range clearly.
Polite Close: A short, collaborative closing line.
After the 6-sentence script, add a new section titled "FALLBACK PLAN". In this section, write a 1-paragraph plan for what to say if they say "no" or "not at this time," focusing on keeping the conversation open (e.g., asking about a 6-month review, or non-monetary perks).
Finally, add a section titled "CONFIDENCE PHRASES" and provide three short phrases to use during the meeting to avoid sounding needy (e.g., "Based on the value I've delivered..." instead of "I think I deserve...").
Here is my information:
My Role: [Your Role Here]
My Current Comp: [Your Current Comp Here]
My Target Comp: [Your Target Comp Here]
My 2 Strengths: [Your First Strength] and [Your Second Strength]

Why It Works

This prompt is so effective because it solves the real problems with negotiating: It Stops Rambling: The 6-sentence limit forces you to be direct and powerful. No nervous filler words. It's Based on Value, Not Need: The script centers the entire conversation on your accomplishments (your strengths), not on what you "want" or "need." This is the #1 rule of successful negotiation. It Removes the Fear of "No": The single biggest reason we get nervous is the fear of rejection. The Fallback Plan gives you a pre-planned, confident response. It removes the fear, which instantly makes you a better negotiator. It Coaches Your Language: The Confidence Phrases are psychological hacks. Switching from "I want" to "Based on my research..." or "I'm excited to continue adding value..." completely changes the power dynamic of the conversation.
